Via GoKidsNJ – New Jersey is home to many waterparks, both indoors and outdoors. On sweltering hot summer days, New Jersey residents usually don’t have to travel more than 25 minutes to reach a park, no matter where they live in the state. Centrally located in Jackson Township, Six Flags Hurricane Harbor is the state’s largest and perhaps most popular of all of the water parks. Situated on 45 acres of lush forest at the edge of the New Jersey Pine Barrens. For the more exotic locations, there are beachfront water parks available in Keansburg, Seaside Heights, Ocean City and Wildwood. Clementon Splashworld, located near Philadelphia is located in Clementon Amusement Park, one of the world’s longest running amusement parks.
In the mountains to the north, you can find Pirates Cove at the Land of Make Believe and Mountain Creek at the former site of Action Park, for those of you who remember.
New Jersey is home to two state of the art indoor water parks, CoCo Key in Mount Laurel and Sahara Sam’s in Berlin.
Go Kids NJ Top 3 New Jersey Water Parks for 2012
1. Six Flags Great Adventure
2. Clementon Splashworld
3. Ocean Oasis & Beach Club
This year, our top choices for family water parks include Six Flags Hurricane Harbor in first place. Six Flags has been investing large amounts of money into thrilling new attractions in the past two years and offers plenty of opportunities for families with children of all ages. In second place this year, Clementon Splashworld gets the honor because they built a huge 20,000 square foot wave pool, second only to the Six Flags wave pool. In third place, is the picturesque Morey’s Piers in Wildwood, where two water parks await you on the vast white sand beaches overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
