Seaside Heights Gives OK For 2013 St. Patrick’s Day Parade
SEASIDE HEIGHTS–The 2013 Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade will definitely march down the Boulevard in Seaside Heights on March 9, 2013.
“The devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy has impacted everyone in the Shore Community,” said Parade Chairman Denis P. Kelly. “Our parade has traditionally been the kick off for tourism at the Jersey Shore every year. This year, more than ever, we will help to Restore the Shore and bring people into the region to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and celebrate the resilience of the Jersey Shore. ”
The theme of this year’s parade will be to celebrate the shore and rebuild stronger and better than ever. The parade will help raise money and charitable contributions to support the rebuilding efforts for the entire region.
John Camera, Seaside Heights Borough Administrator said in an interview last week with the Ocean Signal, the parade will kick off the season and won’t impact the reconstruction effort along the oceanfront. ”The parade is off of the boardwalk and takes place on the Boulevard so it won’t impact the construction on the boardwalk, so we don’t see why that can’t go on as scheduled.” Camera said.
This week, the Ocean County St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee launched their new website. You can visit them at http://www.ocstpatricksdayparade.com or call 732-267-4876 for more information about the parade.
