Toms River Northern Beaches to Repopulate January 7th; Electrical Reconnects Made Easier
TOMS RIVER–Toms River residents living in the northern beaches sections of the township may soon be going home. According to the township, residents of Ocean Beach, Chadwick Beach, Monterey and Normandy should be able to return home on January 7th. For Ortley Beach Residents, the township will continue the three day rotation
After the death of a worker in Brick, who was directing traffic, Toms River Township Public Works Director Lou Amoruso says to all those wanting to visit their homes on the barrier island, “Safety is our number one priority. When we have a zone closed, it is because we have heavy-duty equipment in that area. I cannot stress strongly enough that the closed zones must be strictly enforced in order to prevent another such incident. We will make sure that law enforcement is patrolling the areas that are closed so that work can be completed in a safe and effective manner.”
The “Northern Beaches” are located north of Lavallette and south of Brick Twp., such as Ocean Beach, Chadwick, Monterey, Normandy, etc. Beginning on January 7th, we expect all areas of the Northern Beaches to be open for re-population. All utilities are expected to up and running. Please refer to schedule below for access on Jan. 1-6.
