Seaside Heights Boardwalk: 16 Bids Range from $2.9M to $7.9M

SEASIDE HEIGHTS–The Borough of Seaside Heights, on January 10th, opened 16 bids from prospective firms for the project of rebuilding the boardwalk.    The bid package sought bids for a similarly constructed boardwalk using wood and the tradition herring bone pattern that has always adorned the boardwalk.

The project consists of two sections, a 70′ x 1,750 section between Casino Pier and Funtown Pier and a 40′ x 1,750′ section north of the Casino Pier.   The boardwalk will be built to the same height as the previous one.  It will entail the installation of 12 inch wide pilings, 20 feet long, placed twelve feet apart.

The borough sought prices for both screws and nails for the deck surface.

One company, Summit Reliance Group submitted a proposal for a concrete boardwalk at the cost of $8,622,014.
