Jackson Police Blotter: Saturday, January 19th, 2013
JACKSON–At approximately 12:30 am, Officers, Fire and First Aid personnel responded to the report of a fire at building 16 of the Prospect Point Apartments. Smoke and flames were observed upon arrival and the fire was extinguished by fire personnel. Upon investigation, the fire was deemed as not suspicious and appeared to have been started when a resident fell asleep on his couch while smoking a cigarette.
Arrest Made at Woodmere
Officers responded to a reported dispute in progress at the Woodmere Apartments. During the investigation, a 48 year old female was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Lakewood. She was turned over to the Lakewood Police Department when she was unable to post bail.
Drug Activity at Johnson Park
At approximately 10:30 pm, while conducting a patrol check of Johnson Park, officers checked on a red Jeep which was parked in an unlit area at the rear of the park. The odor of marijuana was detected and during a further investigation, a 28 year old male was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was processed at police headquarters and released pending a court date.
