Go Inside the Funtown Pier with the Ocean Signal

Picture19By Phil Stilton

SEASIDE PARK–In the weeks after Hurricane Sandy struck the Jersey Shore, the Ocean Signal was invited into different places across the barrier island.  One of those places was the Funtown Pier.  Like most of us who grew up here in Ocean County, my childhood is full of memories from the pier and the many transformations it has undergone over the decades.   I can remember back to being a child in the late 1970′s all the way to recent summers taking my own young children there.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be releasing our library of thousands of photos from the area we have been taking, in some cases, dating back to the 1970′s, captured from old family slides and photos.

This week, we released the first set of photos from the Funtown Pier post-Sandy.

You can visit our Funtown Pier Hurricane Sandy Pictures  gallery.

Check in regularly here at the Signal for new photos, photo essays and stories from the barrier island.
