Toms River Fire Companies Respond to General Alarm Fire in Silverton

Picture2TOMS RIVER–On Friday, Toms River fire companies responded to a housee fire on Aldo Drive in Silverton.   According to Silverton Volunteer Fire Company Chief Gus Baxes,  a general alarm was issued because the fire occurred between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and all Toms River stations responded.

Silverton VFC arrived on scene to a fully engulfed fire at the single story home and witnessed flames coming from three sides of the structure.   “We got it knocked down quick, within minutes, they put down the bulk of the fire,” he said.

Baxes said the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
