LAKEWOOD–Police have arrested Barry A. Hill, 25, of Lakehurst in connection with the overnight hit and run incident which killed 78 year old Catherine Linderoth in Leisure Village. Hill’s vehicle was found by police inside Leisure Village. He was charged with causing death while driving with a suspended license.
The accident occurred at about 8 pm inside Leisure Village when a vehicle – described as a dark SUV – struck the 78 year old woman, and then fled the scene.
Lakewood First Aid and EMS responded to the scene, where the woman was found in serious condition.
She was transported to KMC with CPR in progress, and was pronounced dead at the hospital, Sergeant Frank Work said.
Lakewood Police Department’s Traffic & Safety division, CIU and the Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the incident.
