Johnny on the Spot Goes up in Flames in Toms River

 

TOMS RIVER–Firefighters from the Silverton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire at 20 Longman Street on Saturday to find a burning port-o-potty.   The fire which was reported at 4:30 pm engulfed a Johnny on the Spot port-o-potty that was located near the corner of the home.

Chief Mastronardy says the home has been vacant since Hurricane Sandy and was put out with extinguishers by the fire department.

Toms River Police Officer Adam Koepen responded to what was called in as a structure fire, according to Mastronardy.

“The fire damaged the port-a-potty and caused minor damage to the siding of the home that has been vacant since Sandy,” Mastronardy said.  ”Detective Thomas Dimichele and Officer William Hutton are investigating.”
