Little Egg Harbor Police Officers Assist in Birth

LITTLE EGG HARBOR–On 02-11-13, police responded to a residence on Lk. Crystalbrook Dr. for a female in labor. When police arrived on scene the female was in labor and the baby was already crowning. Sgt. David DiElmo, Patrolman Eric Nelson and Patrolman Thomas McAnney assisted the female as she gave birth inside her residence prior to any medical personal arriving. Officers assisted the baby after being born due to him having the umbilical cord wrapped around his neck. The female gave birth to a healthy 7 pound baby boy, they were then transported to the hospital by Quality Ambulance Service for further treatment.
