Toms River Student Places Second in National Democracy Essay Contest

Picture17TOMS RIVER–Kristen Borowski of Toms River, a senior at Monsignor Donovan High School placed 2nd in the National Voice of Democracy Essay Contest sponsored by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). Kristen took first place at both the local and district levels to advance to the National level. At a reception held in Mt. Laurel, New Jersey, Kristen was awarded a $4,000 scholarship for her 2nd place finish.

At Donovan, Kristen is an honor student and member of the National Honor Society, as well as belonging to the Academic Challenge team and chess club.
