Seaside Heights Couple Caught with 7lbs of Marijuana Arrested

The following information has been released Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office:

SEASIDE HEIGHTS–Ocean County Prosecutor Marlene Lynch Ford announced today the culmination of an investigation into drug activity in the Ocean County area.

On February 25, 2013 Detectives from the Prosecutor’s Special Operations Group along with members of the Seaside Heights Police Department obtained and executed a search warrant for a residence located 121 Webster Avenue, Seaside Heights NJ as well as a storage trailer located on Hiering Avenue, Seaside Heights NJ. As a result of the search warrants police seized approximately seven pounds of marijuana along with approximately $3000 dollars in cash. Police also seized drug paraphernalia as a result of the search warrant executions.

The following individuals was arrested and charged:

Vincent Craparotta III age 30 of 121 Webster Avenue, Seaside Heights NJ. Mr. Craparotta was charged with possession of marijuana over fifty grams and possession of marijuana over one ounce but less than five pounds. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis R. Hodgson Jr. JSC set bail on the aforementioned charges for Mr. Craparotta at $35,000 no ten percent. Mr. Craparotta was also charged with possession of CDS specifically marijuana over five pounds, possession of CDS specifically marijuana over five pounds with intent to distribute, possession of CDS specifically marijuana over five pounds with intent to distribute while being within 500 feet of a public beach and possession of drug paraphernalia. The Honorable Superior Court Judge Francis R. Hodgson Jr. JSC set an additional bail on Mr. Craparotta of $100,000 cash on the those charges.

Jenna R. Craparotta age 30 of 121 Webster Avenue, Seaside Heights NJ. Ms. Craparotta was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ms. Craparotta was released on a summons.

Assisting in the investigation as well as the execution of the search warrants were members of the Seaside Heights Police Department.

The media and public are reminded that criminal charges are merely accusations and that these defendants are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Editor’s Note (2/27/13): Craparotta is currently employed as the manager of Hemmingway’s Cafe in Seaside Heights.  A representative from the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office said today that these charges have no connection to the restuarant.
