OCC Women’s Basketball Advances in Region XIX Tournament

TOMS RIVER–Ocean County College Women’s Basketball is on a roll.
An outstanding team effort last night propelled the Vikings past Northampton Community College 69 – 60.
Two Vikings posted double doubles and all five starters scored in double digits.
The team was paced by Corinne Morgan with 18 points and 13 rebounds and Jackie Caravella with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Emily Kunzman scored 15 points and shot 45% from behind the arc, Heather Tice added 13 points and had 5 steals, and Amber Nafziger scored 11 points with 7 rebounds in the victory.
Northampton entered the week as the #5 ranked team in the nation and #1 ranked team in the Region XIX Tournament. The Vikings will now move on to play Passaic County Community College in the Region XIX Semi-final Game at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ on Thursday 2/28/13 at 6 pm.
