TOMS RIVER–Ocean County Prosecutor Joseph D. Coronato today announced the return of an indictment by the Ocean County Grand Jury against Bruce A. Figular, 50, of Toms River. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office into Mr. Figular unlawfully entering a Toms River area school, impersonating a police officer, and ultimately committing an act of aggravated sexual contact against a school teacher.
The indictment presents that on or about January 14, 2013, Mr. Figular gained entrance to a Toms River Intermediate School during a regular school day through an open door. He was challenged by a school employee and presented himself as an active duty New Jersey State Trooper. Once inside one of the classroom areas, he committed an act of aggravated sexual contact upon one of the teachers. Figular was indicted on charges of third degree burglary, third degree aggravated criminal sexual contact, and fourth degree impersonating a law enforcement officer.
Senior Assistant Prosecutor Michael Weatherstone is prosecuting the case. Figular is currently released on $50,000 no 10% bail set by Judge Francis R. Hodgson, Jr., J.S.C
