Report from Toms River Police Department:
Toms River Police responded to Whitesville Road near Jumping Brook Drive reference a traffic crash involving a Dump Truck and a car at 130 p.m. on Tuesday. The car was traveling northbound on Whitesville road when according to witnesses it entered the southbound lanes where it collided head on into a southbound dump truck owner by George Harms construction company. The driver of the truck Chris Gratzel was not injured in the accident. The driver of the car Brandon Burris, 25, of Monmouth avenue in Manchester Township was flown by Helicopter to Jersey Shore Trauma Center. Mr. Burris is being treated for leg and internal injuries.
Whitesville road was closed for about one hour during the accident investigation that is being conducted by Traffic Officer Mark Nater, David Bartoshek, and Robert Westfall are investigating along with Ocean County Prosecutors Office and Sheriff’s Department.
